This large former barn has been sympathetically and lovingly rebuilt and is situated in a shared courtyard on the edge of the pretty village of Wellow, famous for its May Pole. Retaining many original features including beams and fireplaces, the Long Barn provides a wonderful family base to visit all this popular area has to offer. Set off the main road down a track, close to Rufford Country Park, just 2 miles from Centre Parcs, and 4 miles from Robin Hood's Major Oak and Visitors Centre. Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park are close by, whilst the village of Edwinstowe is only 4 miles away, where Robin Hood married Maid Marion. The vibrant city of Nottingham is only 15 miles away as is the historic town of Newark. There are excellent walks through Wellow Wood, which is a  SSSI woodland area. Rufford Golf Course is only 2 miles away. Within the farm boundary we have made available for our guests enjoyment, stabling for your own horses, or the use one of our horses, clay pigeon shooting  landrover off-roading and quad biking.   Day fishing passes for the fishing pond just 50 yards away are also available. Local shops within 1 mile, pub 100 metres.

We welcome all types of groups, from family get-togethers, school reunions, hen & stag parties, wedding parties and wedding guest accommodation  We also cater for mid-week corporate bookings for regional meetings.

The Long Barn is split over 3 floors. The Ground floor:  Large double lounge,  kitchen/dining room with beams, utility, toilet & basin. The First floor: 4 bedrooms with beams - 1 double, plus one double with additional single bed, and one double with en-suite shower with toilet & basin, 1 twin room, bathroom with shower over bath, toilet & basin.  The Second floor:  Open office area with wi-fi,  leading into a family bedroom with a double and a single bed.

Services: Open fire . GFCH. Underfloor heating on ground floor with an open coal fire in front room. First basket of coal provided, bed linen (duvets) & towels etc., supplied. The only additional cost to cover administration and fuel supplement is £50 pw, £30 per short break, which is payable upon arrival. Pets are welcome, but there is a charge of £10.00 per pet. Parking for 4 cars, 2 undercover.  DVD player. CD player. Electric range cooker. D/washer. F/freezer. M/wave. W/dryer. Week bookings can either start on Friday or Saturday, weekend bookings start on a Friday, arrival 3pm, departure Monday 10am. Mid week short break - arrive Monday 3pm, depart Friday 10am.
